When the Customer Is Booking a Time, Not a Parcel
A clinic, a tutor, or a salon gets “kalke free?” in the inbox. The reply has to book a time, not a courier.

“Kalke free?” arrives on Messenger at 10pm. It might be a parent asking about a tutor, a patient asking about a clinic, or someone who wants a haircut before a wedding. They do not want a tracking code. They want a time, a price, and a clear yes.
A product catalog and a courier button cannot answer that. If your assistant only knows how to sell a dress, it will either go quiet or, worse, talk about delivery charges to a person who is coming to you.
The shop and the appointment are different days
Plenty of Facebook Pages in Bangladesh sell a thing and also sell a visit. A salon sells a serum and a slot. A tutor sells a PDF and an hour. A clinic sells nothing you can put in a poly bag, and still lives in the inbox, because that is where people ask “ajke dokar ache?”
The inbox can be the same. The record cannot. A visit needs a service, a person, and a time. A parcel needs a product, an address, and a fleet. Mixing them produces a confirmation that sounds sure and means nothing. “Booked” in a chat, with no time on a calendar the staff can see, is how two patients are told to come at 6.
Say which business you are running in that thread. If they asked for a visit, stay on the visit.
What has to be true before anyone says “booked”
The service has to exist in the catalog the assistant searches: the name, the duration, the price you are willing to say in public. The customer has to confirm both the service and the time. Then the booking is created. GoChatly’s assistant is told not to say the visit is booked unless that booking succeeded.
Until then, the honest sentence is that you are checking the slot. After it succeeds, the thread can repeat the service and the time in the customer’s language. They should be able to read it back without calling you.
A name and a phone still matter. A lead is how the front desk knows who is coming. Collect them before you promise the chair, the bench, or the video call. Do not collect a card number in the chat. Do not invent a discount that is not on the service.
If the hour is taken, say so and offer another. A second “yes” from the customer, and a booking that actually moved, is a reschedule. The old time should not stay on the book beside the new one.
What stays with a person
Some replies should not be automatic, even when the catalog is perfect. A medical decision. A price you have not listed. A complaint about a visit that already happened. A request for the owner by name. Those belong to a teammate. The assistant can hand the thread over and tell the customer, in one sentence, that a person will continue.
A tutor who is not sure they can take another student on Thursday night should be the one to say yes. The assistant can offer the hours you marked. It should not fill your only free evening because the chat felt eager.
The same rule you would give a receptionist is the rule you put in the rulebook. Which areas you visit. Which hours the chamber is open. What a missed appointment costs, if it costs anything. What you never promise in chat.
Saturday at a salon, evening at a tutor
Picture a salon on a wedding Saturday. The inbox has twenty “free?” messages and the chairs have six hours. The assistant should offer only the services and the slots you listed. A bridal time that takes half a day is not the same service as a trim, even if the buyer used the same word. If they confirm a trim at 4 and the booking succeeds, the thread says trim at 4. The front desk sees the same row.
Picture a tutor after school. “Kalke free?” might mean a trial class or the regular hour. Ask which service. Quote the price on that service. Book only after they agree the hour. If they later write “make it 8”, that is a change to the same booking, not a second student with the same name. The evening you freed should not stay occupied.
A clinic has a tighter version of the same habit. The inbox can take a name, a phone, and a chamber time. It should not advise. When the question is about a symptom, a report, or a fee you have not published, a person answers. The booked time is still just a time.
The morning list is the test
At the start of the day, the booked visits should match the chats. If a customer says “you told me 7” and the book says nothing, the confirmation was only a sentence. If the book says 7 and the customer was never told, you have a ghost.
GoChatly is built for both kinds of work: the order that becomes a parcel, and the enquiry that becomes a time. Use the second path when the customer is asking to come, or for you to come to them. Leave Steadfast for the serum you ship. Leave the slot for the person who asked “kalke free?”
If your Page books people and still runs on notebook pages, talk to GoChatly.
