A public comment thread is part of the shop window. One rude reply can sit under a product post for days, and the next buyer reads that before they message you. Hiding a comment keeps the thread useful without deleting a record you may need later.
Hide a comment from the Page
Open the post on your Facebook Page, not from a personal profile. Under the comment, choose the menu and select Hide comment. The author still sees their own words. Everyone else sees a quieter thread.
Use hide when the comment is off topic, spam, or a price argument that belongs in Messenger. Delete only when the comment breaks the law or your posted comment policy.
What visitors still see
Hidden comments do not leave a public hole that says the brand is censoring a complaint. The thread continues with the questions you want to answer in public: size, stock, and delivery area.
Write a comment policy you can repeat
Put one short policy on the Page About section. Name what you hide: repeated ads, personal attacks, and phone numbers posted by other shops. Staff should apply the same rule on weekends as on weekdays.
When a real buyer is unhappy, hide the pile on of insults and reply once in public with the next step. Then move the order detail into chat, where the address and payment stay private.
Hand the thread to the inbox
Hiding a comment does not answer the person. GoChatly keeps Facebook and Instagram messages in one inbox, so the teammate who hides the comment can open the same customer and reply with stock, price, and delivery time.
A good public thread plus a fast private reply is the combination buyers remember. The comment stays constructive. The order still gets confirmed.
